Template Library
KarmaFlow ships with twenty curated document templates — ten US and ten Canadian — that install with one click. Each template comes as a fully editable Document Agent; once installed you can rewrite the prompt, change the locked sections, swap the model, adjust signer roles, anything.
A jurisdiction filter at the top of the gallery (All / US / Canada) lets you narrow the picker. Each card shows a small jurisdiction badge so US and Canadian variants of the same document type are easy to tell apart at a glance.
How Installation Works
- Navigate to Agents > Document Agents > Templates (or click "Browse templates" from an empty document agents list)
- Tick the templates you want to install
- Click Install
Installed templates land in your tenant's document agents list with status = sandbox. The system tracks the original template via a presetKey field — already-installed templates are shown with a green check in the gallery and can't be installed twice (to install another copy, edit the existing one or create a new agent from scratch).
The Twenty Built-in Templates
Each document type has both a US variant (default jurisdiction language references US states, IRS / 1099 contractor classification, at-will employment, etc.) and a Canadian variant (provincial law references, CRA / T4A contractor classification, ESA-compliant employment terms with explicit notice provisions, HST/GST handling, explicit IP assignment + moral-rights waiver, Quebec language clause where relevant).
Legal
- Mutual NDA — Two-party mutual confidentiality, US-default jurisdiction. Hardcoded sections for governing law, severability, and entire-agreement.
- One-Way NDA — Recipient-only confidentiality obligations.
- Master Services Agreement (MSA) — Umbrella terms governing services delivered under attached Statements of Work. Includes service terms, fees, term-and-termination, IP ownership, confidentiality, warranties, limitation of liability, indemnification.
- Statement of Work (SOW) — Project-specific scope/deliverables/fees that attach to an MSA. Includes scope, timeline, assumptions, out-of-scope, fee schedule, acceptance criteria, change management.
- Consulting / Independent Contractor Agreement — IRS-compliant contractor classification language, IP assignment, non-solicitation, at-will termination.
Sales
- Sales Proposal — Persuasive proposal with executive summary, scope, pricing, terms — signable. Optimized for verbosity = High and longer-form output.
- Sales Quote — Line-itemed quote with totals, taxes, validity period, and customer acceptance signature.
- Letter of Intent (LOI) / Term Sheet — Non-binding LOI; only confidentiality and exclusivity provisions are explicitly binding. Useful for early M&A or partnership conversations.
Finance
- Invoice — Line-itemed invoice with payment terms and remit-to instructions. No signature required by default.
HR
- Employment Offer Letter — At-will employment offer with base salary, benefits summary, equity grant. Sequential signing (hiring manager first, then candidate).
What's in a Template
Each preset includes:
- Prompt — A detailed system prompt that tells the AI what sections to produce, in what order, what tone, and how to structure the output JSON
- Hardcoded sections — Verbatim legal boilerplate (governing law, severability, integrity clauses) inserted at the same position on every document of that type
- Default signer roles — Who needs to sign (e.g., "Disclosing Party" + "Receiving Party"), in what order, what signature type
- Signing field hints — Tells the AI where to place each signature, initial, and date field with inline
<span data-sigfield="…"> markers
- Suggested tools — A starter tool list (e.g., vector-search for legal templates, web-search for proposals)
- Output formats — Defaults to PDF + DOCX + HTML
- Attorney-review notice — A standing reminder that these are generic templates and qualified counsel should review them before relying on them in real transactions
Customizing After Install
Open the installed agent and edit anything:
- Rewrite the prompt to match your company's voice or specific service offerings
- Swap the model if you want longer reasoning (e.g.,
gpt-5.4) for complex agreements
- Add tools so the AI can pull data from your CRM during generation (e.g.,
vector-search for past similar agreements)
- Edit or add hardcoded sections — for example, add your own confidentiality clauses, change the governing-law jurisdiction
- Link global sections — wire up your standard header/footer so every generated document carries consistent branding
- Adjust page setup and branding — change page size, font, brand color, margins
A Note on Legal Validity
The shipped templates are practical starting points written for typical US or Canadian business contexts. They are not a substitute for legal advice.
- US templates assume US-default contract law conventions. For high-value or state-sensitive transactions (CA, NY, MA, TX), specialized industries (healthcare, government procurement, regulated finance), or EU transactions, have qualified counsel tailor the template first.
- Canadian templates assume Ontario-default provincial language. Canadian employment law in particular is unforgiving — termination clauses are frequently struck down for failing to fully preserve statutory minimums under the applicable Employment Standards Act, and contractor misclassification creates CRA reassessment risk. Quebec engagements have additional Charter of the French Language requirements.
Have Canadian or US counsel (whichever applies to the transaction at hand) review every template before relying on it.
A standing attorney-review banner appears on each preset card and on installed agents until you dismiss it.
