# Automations

Automations let you define rules that trigger actions automatically based on CRM events.

## Accessing Automations

Navigate to **CRM > Automations** to view and manage your automation rules.

## How Automations Work

Each automation consists of:

- **Trigger** — The event that starts the automation, such as a contact being created, a tag being added, or a form being submitted
- **Conditions** — Optional filters that control when the automation should run
- **Actions** — The updates or notifications that happen after the trigger fires

## Creating an Automation

1. Click **+ New Automation**
2. Select a **trigger event**
3. Add optional **conditions** to filter
4. Configure the **action(s)** to perform
5. Name the automation and click **Save**

## Common Use Cases

- **Tag new form submissions** — Add a tag automatically when a form is submitted
- **Notify on high-value leads** — Send an alert when a qualified or high-scoring lead is created
- **Update status on activity** — Change a CRM field when a customer responds or engages

## Enabling and Disabling

Toggle automations on or off without deleting them. Disabled automations retain their configuration so they can be re-enabled later.

> **Note:** For complex multi-step workflows with branching, time delays, and multi-channel actions, use [Orchestrations](/help/orchestrations/overview) instead.
